UNHYPESTUDIOFILMS Start a film

Films without
the noise.

Your story, your people, your place. We build each film around you, beat by beat and frame by frame, from your own photos and footage.

00:00:02:00Reels

Motion, shown rather than told.

Six 15 second reels, made in-house in Remotion, frame by frame. The first is ours. The other five show the same craft shaped for different businesses.

STUDIO PIECES, NOT CLIENT WORK · SILENT · NO STOCK, NO AI-MADE ASSETS

00:00:04:00Principles

Six rules every film follows.

The same idea as the rest of Unhype Studio: good design, no noise. A film has seconds to earn attention, so every frame has a job and anything without one comes out.

RULE 1

Your material first

Most films start with what you already have. We cut, layer and animate your photos with type, or edit your footage, so it moves like it was made for the job.

RULE 2

Real, never generated

Your product, your people, your place. No AI-generated faces, food or results. AI is only ever used for clean-up, like dust or noise, and we log it.

RULE 3

Rights before pixels

Every photo gets a rights check before we design with it: who took it, a reverse image search, and releases for anyone recognisable. A photo being online is not permission.

RULE 4

One idea per film

A single thought from your world. If a competitor could swap their logo in and the film still worked, the idea is not finished.

RULE 5

Cut to the beat

Every cut and every move sits on a beat grid we set before animating. Nothing drifts, nothing lands late, and the end card holds long enough to read.

RULE 6

Checked before it ships

Each film is scored against a 12-line film scorecard and measured: size, length, frame rate, loudness and safe zones. A fail goes back to the edit, not to you.

Standards

How every film is checked before it leaves the studio.

Forty-five seconds on the rules our film work is held to. Our own standards.
Read what the film says

Our systems are hard-wired to score the exported file on 12 lines, never the timeline. A 5 is defined as shortlist level at a craft award. Fail any line under 4: every line 4 or more, an average of 4.3 or more, and one 3 fails. Keep two jurors blind. Measure the file: loudness, true peak, audio rate and flashes a second. Block on rights. Refuse AI-made assets, zero. Refuse broken code. Check it muted. Good design. No noise. Unhype Studio Films. Our own standards.

00:00:08:00Two ways to start

Start with the photos you have, or film something new.

You may already have what a strong first film needs. If not, we plan a short shoot with you, around one idea that is yours.

Where most films start

Motion from your photos

We take your best cleared photos and build the film around them with type, layers, light and timing.

  • Photos scored for quality before design, so we know what they can carry
  • Cropped and layered with care, never just zoomed in and faded
  • Music and sound designed to the edit
  • If your photos limit the film, we tell you which shots would lift it
When you need footage

Film from footage

A commercial shot on location, or cut from footage you already have. The real product is always filmed for real.

  • Shot list, call sheet and releases agreed before the shoot
  • Shot at 25 fps with locked exposure and white balance
  • Edit, colour and sound mix in one place
  • Room to grow into longer brand films
00:00:12:00How we work

Nine steps. You approve the three that matter.

You see the idea moving before anything is shot or built. Nothing costly happens before you have signed off the animatic.

STEP 1

Brief

What the film is for, who it is for, where it will run and the one thing it must say.

You approve
STEP 2

Photos and rights

We gather your photos and footage, check the rights to each one, and score their quality before any design.

Every asset cleared
STEP 3

Treatment and storyboard

The idea in writing, with references and a frame-by-frame storyboard.

Two directions, one chosen
STEP 4

Animatic

A rough moving version with timing, type and temp sound. This is where the film is decided.

You approve
STEP 5

Shoot or build

We film to the shot list, or build the motion piece from your photos to the locked beat grid.

Shot list or beat grid
STEP 6

Edit, music and sound

Cuts on action and on the beat, licensed music, and sound designed for each moment. It also has to work muted.

You approve the cut
STEP 7

Colour and finish

One grade across every shot, product colour true to life, and clean type and end card.

Graded and mixed
STEP 8

Quality check

Scored against the film scorecard and measured against the platform's specs. Anything below standard goes back.

STEP 9

Delivery

Every size you need, a master file, and a record of every licence and release.

00:00:16:00Craft

Beat by beat. Pixel by pixel.

Two seconds of a film is fifty frames. Drag through them. Every frame is placed on purpose, and the moves follow an easing curve rather than sliding at one speed.

TIMECODE00:00:01:06
FRAME31 / 49
BEAT3
25 FPS

A frame is 40 milliseconds

We work at 25 frames a second, the UK standard. Timing is set in frames, not guessed with a slider.

125 BPM = 12 FRAMES

The beat grid comes first

At 125 beats a minute, one beat is exactly twelve frames. Cuts and key moves land on those marks, shown in gold on the ruler.

3 CURVES

One motion language

Each film uses a small written set of eases, so everything moves with the same weight. Switch to linear to see the difference.

SAFE ZONES

Readable where it runs

On a Reel or TikTok, text stays out of the top 14%, the bottom 35% and the outer 6%, where the app's buttons sit.

00:00:28:00What we leave out

The noise we cut.

Template transitions

No glitch packs, whip pans or light leaks dropped in to fill time.

A whoosh on every cut

Sound is designed for what happens on screen, not added by habit.

Stock passed off as yours

A mood shot can be stock. "This is our burger" has to be your burger.

Claims without proof

Every claim in a film is checked against your evidence before it goes out.
